Introduction to the Portable Batch System

The Portable Batch System is a collection of software designed to support queueing and execution of batch jobs on heterogeneous clusters of hardware. It was originally written at the Numerical Aerospace Simulation Systems Division at the NASA Ames Research Center. PBS is distributed and supported by MRJ Technology Solutions. It is easily portable to many different platforms, supports parallel execution, and is secure. This short PBS tutorial is designed to alleviate the migration process for new users to the PC cluster.
