The first time you login, do the following!

 

  1. Type ssh [username]@rachel.psc.edu to login
  2. After logging in, type kpasswd.  You will be prompted for your old password.  Then enter your new password.
  3. The first time you log in, you might have a really ghetto shell (it won’t even have the tab complete feature!). Type chsh. You will see something like the following:

    Old shell: /usr/psc/shells/csh
    New shell:


    Type /usr/psc/shells/tcsh/ to use the standard shell that we use for SuSe Linux.
  4. Log out and re-login with your new password.  Now your shell should be a little more user-friendly.
